The challenges of fighting human trafficking are many. With an estimated 40.3 million men, women, and children living in modern slavery, the numbers  can feel overwhelming. The fight against human trafficking is also incredibly complex, underfunded, and misunderstood. The reality is that human trafficking is a crime that occurs in every country, not just the developing world. All of these obstacles can hinder activism, but joining the fight is actually very simple. There are three ways you can bolster the work of our Search + Rescue teams.

Everyone, everywhere, has a part to play in Fighting for a free world.

#1 GIVE to support rescue.

Your generosity finances our front lines in India, Thailand, and Latin America in bringing freedom to many. Your donations empower and equip our Search + Rescue teams in bringing rescue to survivors and arresting traffickers. Tools such as cutting-edge cyber technology, training, and investigative resources are necessary for our national operatives to fight human trafficking in their local communities with local authorities. And after the rescue, your support reinforces the healing work of aftercare. If you’d like to stand with us by giving monthly support or a one-time gift, you can donate here.

#2 SHARE our social posts!

So many people are still learning about the issue of human trafficking and don’t yet understand the magnitude or how they can help. By simply sharing our posts and why this fight is important, you are helping to create a movement of support. Every link, share, comment, and engagement matters. As William Faulkner wrote, “Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world…would do this, it would change the earth.” You cannot underestimate the value of spreading the word!

#3 HOST A FUNDRAISER!

Putting together a fundraiser is easy and we’ve got all your questions on how to do it answered here. Invite your friends to join you for your birthday or a special day like Human Trafficking Awareness Day (January 11) in raising up the vulnerable and standing together. Fundraisers are quick and simple, and they are brave invitations to your friends and family to invest in a free world alongside you.

Will you join us in this fight for the most vulnerable? We each have a role to play in this war against human trafficking, and we can accomplish more when we work together. We believe justice is in the hands of the ordinary, and your part in this work is invaluable.
